NOS Leupold VX-Freedom 3-9x40 CDS

Found this in the back corner of a local hardware store. Said they have had it in the store for several years. I don't really need it, but I made them an offer and they accepted. I figured I could pass the savings on to someone here. These are selling for $399 now. I think this one has been handled (demo). The box is worn, but it's in perfect shape and has never been mounted. I don't know anything about the CDS system, but I think you can send in to Leupold for one custom dial?
