Who has knowledge of this supposed AMAZING fishery? Will be in Casper, WY end of September into October antelope hunting with the wife and looking to fish this river. We are conventional gear users and know you have to use artificial lures. Who can help me with some good shore access? Not going to keep any but would sure love to catch a brown trout. Pics to show we love to travel and fish!

Small crank bait at the miracle mile or cardwell is probably the best bet for a brown trout, but they can be caught anywhere closer to casper too.

Stop by the casper WGFD office when you get here. There are a million places to access the river.

Slow troll the canyon in Seminoe with an X4 or X5 green Flatfish with frog spots. Stick as close to the canyon walls as you can and be prepared for a burst of high wind on occasion.

Failing that break out the nightcrawlers if legal.

Just work the mile with rapala #5&7 countdowns in anything that looks like a trout pattern. Xraps also work great in the right water depth. Closer to dam larger hair jigs can be the ticket around the boulders.

You can fish the Platte river right at the Casper G&F office, the river runs right past it and is open for public access.

I think you meant to quote the op. I’m extremely familiar with the NPR. There are some browns in the reach near the office, but that’s not where I’d fish if I was targeting them.
