No detachable magazines on automatics....Here we go again...

I've said it 100 times. If people who want to commit mass shootings ever realize that a pump 12 ga with 00 buck and an extended tube is the most destructive firearm commonly available, body counts will go up exponentially. Vilifying ARs is such a crowd pleasing waste of energy. FIX THE CAUSE!!!
We can't fix the cause, the mentally ill are a protected class now.

Some people just use a truck nowadays...

This is interesting and something I have heard about but haven't looked into. I know the media will chalk this up as a conspiracy theory, but there seems to be some sort of link.
I would bet if the medical records were released from most school shooters and similar attacks there would be common link to these drugs. Unfortunately I don’t ever see this being looked into or would be swept under the rug if questions were asked.

In 2004 the FDA placed a "Black Box Warning" because a meta-analysis showed an increased incidence of suicidal thoughts among depressed teenagers compared with those on placebo.

Psychiatrists have fought back since then, arguing that suicides actually increase since an effective drug class is removed.

In the real world, though, most if not all of the shooters have all been on SSRIs. Cause vs correlation, don't know.

If passed this would be the most restrictive firearms ban in the country, far and above restrictions in CA, WA, NY, IL, etc. It would essentially ban all semi-automatic pistols, leaving only revolvers as legal for purchase. Every pistol, rifle, shotgun that takes a detachable magazine would be banned from purchase, transfer, or manufacture. This is WAY bigger and more sweeping than an assault weapons ban, magazine restriction, or storage/licensing requirements. There is no limit to the desire of CO General Assembly Dems to punish and disenfranchise legal gun owners. Strangely enough our only hope is a veto from Gov Polis, a small, slight hope. He has at times shown a willingness to push back on the most extreme anti-gun measures from the General Assembly.
