New Scope | 300 yards in low-light

I thought you left a long time ago?

Honestly, you come off as borderline retarded because you can't seem to grasp that folks have different levels of ability and comfort for taking game. The person who shot 357 yards with open sights is amazing - and good for them - but that is not typical.

Regarding 32mm, I meant 30mm (typo, sue me).

And it was my understanding that large tube diameters also allow more light to pass thru from the objective lens. It seems logical...

If you consider the deer kill zone to be 8-10" ethically, we're very different hunters.
I knew you were going to amount to something special when you started posting a few days ago. I've got a gift.

Honestly this place is toxic. It's like mining for a fleck of a diamond in a mound of shit. < 5% of the responses here have been value-added towards to goal of the thread.
My wife.... who cant drive legally at night and has vision thats beyond lasik correction - was able to hold on an 8" white spot at 720 yards and connect her first attempt shooting a scoped rifle with a quality 16x scope.

You either have a glorfied chinese potatoe for a 16x scope or have vision to the point of irresponsibility of handling a firearm.

Clearly the best spent money here is on practice shooting not optics.

I have a .17 hmr that has a 24x Bushnell banner scope that is great for the red mist effect and for that distant coyote.

For big game a high quality 4x or subpar 3-9 gets it done. I’m looking at a Swarovski 3-10 next

Perhaps explain the need for more zoomies and you may get the help?

Some light reading:

Haven't shot it at paper, but I can hit the 6" gong consistently. There's people on that website I posted that regularly can shoot 2" groups at 300 with it.

FWIW, I shoot 0.5-0.75" groups at 100, 2-3" groups at 200. I'm not an expert though.

The growth in your groups from 100 to 200 doesn’t bode well for your precision at 300 yards. Carry on.

Good for your wife! That's awesome!

And I hardly think Zeiss is a "glorified Chinese potato".

@Rie Bread - I've explained it probably 25x in this thread.

@brockel - My scope is very clear at 100 yards. Even with the parallax adjusted for 200-300 yards, it's not as clear as I'd want to be. That's why I'm looking for a better solution which can bring that image in some and have good light transmission.

I still think you need an ophthalmologist. We have Swarovski, Leupold VX5s, your Zeiss x 3 and 2 Tracts with SHOTT glass. There is some difference, but not tons.

For a deal, TRACT has a new long range scope though.

Reticle designed at some fancy shooting school.

I appreciate your input! I checked Tract's solution out but I can't get with that reticle.
