Nevada Draw/Results 2025-2026

Thanks, yeah I applied for everything except doing points only for mountain goat. Not sure why but figure hitting the jackpot would be unlikely for me anyway.

True but I figure if I hit on elk, deer, antelope, ram and bear, I will be fairly busy. I also went ahead and got a mountain lion tag which I have passed on in the past.

I drew desert in 2021. Let all my points go for Cali, Rocky, Goat and bear. No interest in them anymore. I have 12 points for bull, hoping that's enough for a ML tag.

Desert is a good one for me, I get to hunt pretty much in one of my friends back yard. I forgot to mention I also applied for moose but that would be truly a jackpot hit. Bull elk I only have like 7 points, but hoping on a cow/spike/dep tag there. I am about due for deer. Antelope, who knows. I just want to get a tag, any tag.

I know this is an annual discussion but things are really starting to look bleak in NV to me for NR Elk which is the main reason i started in NV anyway. 8 points in and odds are getting worse with each additional year/point for any bull tag. The plug will likely get pulled on annual donations after i draw a mule deer tag which might actually happen some day. A guy can buy WY commissioner raffle tickets and have same/better odds as a guy who has a decade invested in NV.

I’m feeling the same way but only 5 points in. Hard to keep justifying the cost with low odds and the likelihood I may never draw. I keep telling myself “you can’t win if you don’t play”… I guess I’m the degenerate gambler version of an elk hunter ha

Unless a pile of people with lots of $ invested drop, the odds aren't even going to get better than the dismal status they currently are. It seems like putting another 20 years in without drawing is not only a likely outcome but overwhelmingly so. 9 years ago when I started I had the attitude of "it might take 20+ years but there's a good chance I'll draw eventually". That is not the case.

Had the exact same attitude when I started out. I keep thinking about quitting NV, but seeing pictures of happy hunters with big NV bulls keeps me in the game

Being a Nevada resident I'm lucky to apply for a lot of hunts including some less coveted tags like spike bull, cow elk, depredation bull elk, depredation cow elk, HSTE pronghorn, etc.

With the exception of last year (had a newborn and mostly bought points) I've always drawn at least one tag. Hopefully its a PIW or Silver State application that comes through...
