Just got back from the Eastern Cape of South Africa, what a trip. I have always dreamed of Africa, but honestly never thought it would come true. I bought the hunt at my local RMEF banquet last August and a year later I’m back. To anyone on the fence I’d say GO, you won’t regret it. Their hospitality is second to none the food is great game is plentiful. You are limited only by your budget. Beautiful landscapes that remind me of several different landscapes in America, beautiful sunrises and sunsets, and the moon was absolutely amazing. I don’t really think I’m able in words to do it justice. Already want to go back and finish the spiral horn slam, I only lack one animal the eland. IMG_6929.jpeg

Quite the mane on your zebra.

I can smell the smoke from your last photo over here in Kansas.

I absolutely agree with just go do it. Wish I had done it while I was still working, don’t know if I’ll make a second trip but sure thinking about it. Your spiral horns are good trophies, looks like a good tall bushbuck. Did you have a chance at an eland? Excellent Nyala. Nyala were my favorite, love hunting them.

It looks like you had a great 1st African trip, and you're bitten by the bug and planning your next trip.

Congrats on some fine trophies.

Ours is supposed to be a 10 day 2 hunter hunt. I'm a bit uncertain what to expect. I don't want to/ could afford to kill 10 animals but if each of us were planning on 4, would we end up tagged out too soon. Curious to hear about your experiences.

I believe most of the hunts allow you to take additional animals beyond the package...you just pay the trophy fee. When I went, the package included 4 animals and I shot 6. My buddy who went with me has money and he shot 10, if I recall correctly. If you want to limit yourself to 4, pick which you want and then be picky about shooting them, holding out for the best possible specimen.

Ours is a 10 day 2 hunter package. All you pay is the animal fees. If you had to limit yourself to 4, which would they be?

When I go again I'll want to hunt Nyala for sure, kudu are a fun hunt, bush buck if one happens to show. Killed a great eland wouldn't pass on one that just happened to show, water buck look great on the wall. Springbok and impala, well they show all the time. This is how I ended up with ten when I went for four.
Kudu, Bushbuck, Nyala and eland would be a great 10 day hunt. Throw in a good hog for good measure.
