As it states, when did this rule take effect? We’ve now had a few years in a row with silly rule changes.

My apologies if this has been went over but I scoured both the elk forums and this one and didn’t see this answered.
Regardless, I believe last year it was “must apply every OTHER year? Now the regulations state you must “apply in consecutive years”.

I am reading this correctly in that I must apply for a combo license every year or my preference points will be wiped clean? Correct? Anyone have any other info that says otherwise?

I bought my point last year and it still shows up this year so 🤷‍♂️

Yes, this is the change from a few years ago, if you have points when the application period is available, you must apply or lose points. I believe you can buy another point this spring when you apply but I don't remember all the rules with that.
