Montanans how long since your last mule deer

Was it the one you killed?
No.
One year I had applied for the Unlimited MD tag in the Elkhorns. But I drew a bull tag in the Snowies. While hunting bulls a damn nice buck ran in to my lap at 50 yds and all I could do was curse my bad luck.🤦
The buck i killed was nothing special, a typical 4pt. I was chippy on that hunt cuz the gumbo was as bad as I ever seen it and we couldn't hunt a fraction of what we hoped for. Picture 6" deep mud IN THE WALL TENT. Made for a good story. The kill was a part of the story, for another time.😒

2022 for me. R7 4x4 during archery. It was a fun time and the meat was good but it was not a big buck. I was antelope hunting. Tonight I bought my daughter a r4 whitetail doe tag and me an R3 whitetail doe tag. We are shooting nice old mule deer bucks or going to have the option to take doe WT for the meat if that’s not in the cards. I suspect me and my kids will eat deer tags this year and they have sub 5% draw permits.

My son’s last mule deer was 2016. My daughters last 2018, and my better half who hunts sometimes with me and has had a deer license every year since 2014 has never taken one.

I get folks concerns, Just curious if everyone commenting harvests elk or whitetail or just buys meat from the industrial complex?

That’s not what I was asking. Not saying I do either. Just asking if people eat more wild game or farmed
meat.
