A whole 3 year old bull elk weighs 500 lbs. there’s no way that bear is 700 lbs. Get a new scale.

I can't vouch for the weight of this bear, but I'll say comparing elk to bears is like comparing apples to watermelons.

I’m calling B.S.! I’ve heard nothing about this bear on our local hunting forums.

I live in Michigan. This same/similar story ran back in 2010 and I didn’t seen any credible evidence that it was true.

Bears that big are like unicorns in Michigan. Wisconsin does get an absolute monster or two every year though.

Still a bear of a lifetime though.

For comparison my son shot this bear last year in the Michigan’s UP. It weighed 460 pounds live.
