Meth Elk

Russ- I believe 'pointer is indicating that (since he's still young) that he will likely remain in that role for 30 more years...while some individual federal "projects" may require that type of long term management- the monies are far from allocated that far in advance. Typically the Federal budget process is 18-20 months from drafting to executing and at any given moment most federal agencies are working concurrently on budgets for three different fiscal years (which run Oct-Sept); the year in progress, the upcoming FY for which the budget has been submitted; and the succeeding FY for which budget estimates are being formulated. Unless things have changed since my days (and Buzz can answer that I’m sure) rarely in these days of deficit spending do you see any kind of “long term” management funding or “allocation”.

You got any proof??? :D :D :D

The Cheese just struggles with anything other than barstool science.

You got any proof???

You mean that pointer is still young?? :D

Only proof I've got on the budget process was having to be a part of it back in the USFS days...never did care for that end of the job- someone can have my position in line at the GAO next time there's an opening, that's why I changed my major as a Soph in collage ;)

My oldest daughter is a Soph in HS, and some of her friends are Jr.s and Seniors in HS. It is fun to listen to the Seniors in HS who are absolutely 100% positive what they are going to majour in when they get to "collage". Our school has a pretty fun Sports Medicine teacher, so, it appears that there are going to be about 80% of the incoming Freshmen in collage next year studying to become graduates in ankle taping for the next 4 years of higher edjumacation.

I know I changed at least 3 times, officially. And, likely, depending on what classes had the hottest chicks in it, perhaps a few more times....

And my point, that Buzz can't seem to understand is, now that we have purchased this land, at well above the going price for said lands, with much of it in need of serious restoration, in a time of multi-trillion dollar deficits, where exactly are we going to get the funds to do this restoration work?

So are any of you whimpering douchebags buying meth elk coupons?

Anyone who hasn't figured out that meth is bad for you by now, is a Darwin award candidate. I think I'll apply my extra dollars towards the principal on my land loan and chase the public land raghorns there. ;):D

BHR.. me too. No denero for that so will stick to the forest dinks around my house. But I suspect it would be a good time for whoever's name was drawn..

Haven't you learned that is a "proven fact" that Mother Nature will do a better job than any sort of man driven management? And, I haven't seen any budget allocation for her, so I'm assuming she works cheap... ;)

That's pretty much it in a nutshell. The timeframes, IME, are a bit longer now due in large part to how long we are expected to operate under 'continuing resolutions'...

Oh yeh Pointer? Somewhere along the the line I read the price tag for this bill was going to be 4 billion. http://www.google.com/hostednews/ap/article/ALeqM5ja3vNS7u_ovPaeUpzrEKqDzs5TjAD95L5LRO0 Pretty hefty price tag for lands that are supposed to be managed by Ma Nature.

BigWhore,

Nowhere in your article are the words "4 billion" mentioned. I think you just pulled something else out of your ass.

BigWhore,

Again, nothing about 4 billion to manage the lands...

Here is the law. What sections have you written your Senators in protest?

I'm glad to see California and Florida are getting their share...

$460 million for a water project designed to save 500 salmon in California; and $3.5 million to help celebrate the 450th birthday of St. Augustine, Fla., in 2015.

ALmost a million dollars each for those salmon. Bet they taste real good! ;)
