Make the case for federalizing game species

@Treeshark /carp - No responses for me. I think you already know my opinion.

I just want you to make your well laid out case somewhere in its own thread. Feel like it never gets finished in other threads that arent actually about this.

@Treeshark - what role does a state game agency have in a place like iowa that is predominately private land? 98% private land.

Should that be federalized or privatized?

I would make the statement that if you don’t pay taxes the land quickly becomes someone else’s that will pay rent / taxes. We “own” nothing
That silly statement has oft been repeated by the "Freemen" and others who have used it as an excuse not to sign a mortgage deal or purchase property or a home, and more broadly to carp about and/or refuse to pay taxes and about the evil gubment at each level ... local, county, state, and federal. It is an ideology based on an unrealistic notion about private property ownership and rights, as well as the very reason taxes are necessary at each level.

BUT ... it has nothing to do about "federalizing game species". Carry on Jon B.

Man, I'm just trying to make jokes!

I'll bite. Who pays for and maintains federal lands?
Hard to define. Consumers pay less for products and taxpayers pay for subsidies.

A comparable example - what right does iowa have to regulate NR deer hunting with nearly 98% of the state being private land?

Soooo, who owns the land?

Animals go with it right? You can't go on someone else's land and shoot their critters.

I don't really want to get this started 🤣

It's fuvking retarded otc tag. Outside of lottery winner or hunt the border of great private. I don't think a healthy population of mule deer on public.
