CO Mountain Lion Ballot Initiative: Continuous Updates

Wow. So in addition to violating CPW Commission policy, failing to meet commission statutory requirements, and lying in testimony to the Senate Natural Resources committee……Beaulieu and Murphy also violated the law.

Both commissioners stated that they never met or even exchanged emails regarding the OpEd. Both said they just signed off on it independently. Regardless, I'm glad someone is holding them accountable. The OpEd was deplorable and Beaulieu was embarassed enough to feign illness to avoid attendance at last week's Commissioners meeting.

Just posted this on the Colorado forum before I saw you had here already. It's nuts but dosen't suprise me. Great move by the sportsmen alliance. Hopefully they won't be on the commission much longer.

Wow, since when is a 10 percentage point loss a narrow margin? In literally every other race that would be considered a resounding victory. Of course folks like Julie Marshall and Samantha Miller have to publicly claim they are gonna run more campaigns. They are paid employees, full time anti-hunting campaign managers and lobbyists. Their livelihood depends on taking wealthy donor money and leveraging it to eliminate hunting in targeted states. Maybe they should do a bit better at reading the room, the average Colorado voter clearly has some wildlife ballot initiative fatigue.

i personally think this is a very non insignificant takeaway from the election in colorado and is why i have a very hard time believing they'll be back for signatures any time too soon.

be interesting to see if there is any fallout from the SA lawsuit. my guess is there won't be much. if anything, my somewhat tin foil hat hunch is that perhaps polis will privately shorten the leash on some of his appointments because their pot stirring may be causing more negatives than positives to the agenda.

i suspect sen. dylan roberts will still be planning to bring up the op ed at some point too. so there might be more to await.

lot of ahead of us to be ready for, regardless.

The takeaway for American hunters? Don’t wait to defend a hunt until it affects you personally—because when one form of hunting is lost, the entire community is weakened.
I'd swap "community" with "country".
Claws in from forced wolf release. Glad they were not empowered with a 2 for 2 100% success rate win!

Great work all and Colorado for fighting back. Beats the heck out of a 0.92% loss!

Grats! About time those two knuckleheads were held accountable. Here's hoping for a quality conclusion. Otherwise, I fear, as these anti-hunt extremes continue, this type of media release by representatives will ratchet up further.
