Little things that bother you. OCD or poor design?

So we're in the middle of the remodel, started with the top and working my way down (disregard the awful deck and vinyl siding). I put up temporary fascia and flashings so I could hang a temporary gutter to keep the water off the three new windows. The temporary fascia is OSB scraps that I had laying around, they were already going in the trash and they will after I take it back off, they're totally temporary...but the UNPAINTED one on the end doesn't match the other pieces!!!! It drives me absolutely bonkers.

I’m no engineer but how is that even a thing? Wouldn’t the load need to be transferred down to a footer?
I was talking about Sheeting the Gable end so you couldn't see the Center post.
Alternatively have steps along the whole front, a bigger header and eliminate the "middle" post on porch.
