For those that might be jonesing for a lever, there is a very, very early Winchester 1894 .30 WCF at Cabela's (Owatonna) and a couple of fixer upper 1893s in .38-55 (the coolest caliber) with octagon barrels (26" and 28") at two different Cabela's (Woodbury and Owatonna, respectively). They will dicker too. Some interesting guns have shown up in Cabela stores recently. I think they are trying to up their game.

Check your buttstock to tang fit on that, make sure you're getting contact with the rear of the receiver and not just the rear of the tang. Bedding it would be a good idea too.

I put different rings on it (quick release levers on set #1 interfered with where I gripped the gun), played with the eye relief a bit, and got it sighted in. It isn’t sub-MOA, but certainly sub-minute of a moose.

Now, I just need a moose tag!
