It is a fake confirmed by Leupold so Im sure glad I asked the question and you guys came through and saved me a few bucks and not just the money I didn't put that piece of shit on my nice new gun.. Glad you figured it out before you bought it. I have to say that the packaging didn't look too bad. Unfortunately in these days you really have to pay attention.

Put it to ya this way.
If it were a real Leupold Mark 8, the team from Cutting Edge Bullets is using one on one of their King of 2 Miles rifles.

So ya know a real Mark 8 is excellent glass, and would come at a price point to match.
