A 8 twist is definitely what I’d recommend. It opens up a lot of great options for heavy bullets and copper options in .243.Putting together a nice 243 setup is on my list for this year. I do reload so the tikka with a 1:8 barrel is tempting but I've also been eyeing an xbolt.
Some new copper bullets that are light really perform. mtmuleyA 8 twist is definitely what I’d recommend. It opens up a lot of great options for heavy bullets and copper options in .243.
Had great results so far from the 80gr hammer! Some new copper bullets that are light really perform. mtmuley
Me too. A box of 70 grain up next. mtmuleyHad great results so far from the 80gr hammer!
Yeah, there's an xbolt for $610 I'm eyeing though. Already threaded vs the tikka I'd have to get threaded based on the models I'm finding in stock. I'm fine shooting 95gr noslers.A 8 twist is definitely what I’d recommend. It opens up a lot of great options for heavy bullets and copper options in .243.
Congrats. Nice shot!
Thanks! 100gr Remington CoreloktsCongrats. Nice shot!

My friend Jerry packing a raghorn bull he shot with his .243 and 100 grain partitions.I wish I could find the article but about 15-20 years ago there was a newspaper article on an elderly lady in one of the Western states that had hunted elk with her .243 for a long time. Seems she had 20 or so elk in the freezer from it. Thank goodness it works for women.
