Let's see some Mule Bucks

This one was a long stinking way from the truck due to some access challenges. I'd missed a chance at a little better buck the day before due to no reading from a subpar rangefinder. I knew it was in range but couldn't get a reading because the angle was tough for the laser. It wasn't close enough to guess, so I didn't shoot. I found this one the next day after a morning walk in the slush. 470 yds, one shot from 6.5x47L/139 scenar. He rolled a long ways down and I was lucky nothing broke.
I've since cut and sold the antlers; not a real big buck but a great memory and I like the pictures from that trip.

Spotted this one the night before and came back to find him right there. My .243 had taken a hit and was off, so I borrowed my partners 7-08ai, 501 yds IIRC. Really interesting compact rack, very heavy but no tine length.

Not a big buck at all, but the first deer I shot hunting alone, back before cameras were in the field. I shot him from about 20 yards right in the brisket with open sights on Model 94 AE chambered in 7-30 Waters. For an 18 year old my beard was powerful. Still maybe the most exciting day of mule deer hunting I have had.

Cool buck I shot Halloween morning years ago. One of my favorite days to be in the woods. He made the mistake of lingering around a couple does for too long before heading to cover as the sun came up. I was able to sneak in on him and shoot him at 130 yards in his little hole that he had dug out.
