Usually, the only time you see a "snake in the grass" in Montana this early, is on odd numbered years, when they seem to congregate in Helena, mostly in the Capitol building, from January to April.

One of my tenants called last year in the summer to tell me there was a copper head loose in one of our rental houses, my wife said to burn it down

What about when they slither under your double bull blind while you are laying on the ground sweating your balls off waiting for a goat to get thirsty! There were no more naps that day even after I killed the curious neighbor I was afraid his entourage would show up..

Heck I haven't had much inclination to sit any sweat boxes after that, spot and stalk is so much more fun anyway

Nice picture Miller, but it doesn't make me too thrilled to know the buggers are out.My area is snake haven,I could do without them.So how did you get that shot and the snake isn't squared up to you?Every one I have come up on almost always adjusts if i walk around it in a circle.

We've already topped 100 and then it dropped to 78 here today. Short bursts of rain for like 3 minutes and then nothing. Now it's clearing up and it will be in the 90s by the weekend.
