I hunted that unit last year, the one thing I can tell you is that it is ROUGH country, I would try to go earlier than later because it can be nasty getting in and out of there.

I don't mind sharing. I was doing a late cow hunt and I did see elk but they were across a very deep canyon that I didn't know if I could cross. The country especially around the Tensleep canyon is on end and you will have to have your hiking legs in shape if you go that way. There are a lot of burns in there that will likely be holding elk.

The unit is only 5.5 hours from me. I plan to scout it this summer.

It’s basically rained every other day for two months in the basin. Been a crazy year for rain!
