How do you celebrate a successful hunt?

That's a really good question- why? At this stage in my life it really isn't the kill as much as exploring new ground, figuring out the patterns, understanding. The kill is expected but not really exciting.

Thank the animal; thank God for the bounty. Get to work dressing it. After I get home and it's time to cut it up, my hunting buddies and I put on some music, crack open some beers, and spend the day butchering.

Have a moment alone with the harvest. Give him/her one last mouth full of grass. Butcher/ pack out and get on ice. Have some cold beers and a little toke and reflect upon the days bounty and what was learned along the way. Archery is just around the corner. So much anticipation!!
