Use the gutless method. Just cut a strip of meat off each side from along the spine. I don’t mess with them but lots of people do.Caught my first burbot on early ice in December. Anyone have tips on the best way to clean them? I tried the peel the skin back with a pair of pliers and it was kind of a pain in the butt on the bigger ones.
I need you to show me how to do this. Looks like a ton of fun.Threw half a dozen little ones back tonight. Kept some of the better ones or those that swallowed the bait as well as a rainbow that decided to dine on sucker meat this evening.
Kind of ridiculous it’s above freezing at 10pm in late December.
