We got our house on the market finally, after deciding we need to pull the trigger about 5 weeks ago. It's been on the market now for 1 full day - had 3 showings today. Can't wait for the offers to start rolling in. Lady Promo - who i do have to say went above and beyond what i was expecting - said she cannot keep the house THIS clean for showings consistantly. I'm actually thinking this is just a good rouse to 1) keep an immaculately clean house, and 2) get my wife out of the house from time to time when shes not on her work shift.

Buying and selling are equally painful. Glutton for punishment, I've done it 5 times. Hopefully only one more time when I retire. I take that back only one more time because I know I can't afford to do it again.

I’ve rebuilt about half of mine by myself. I feel (partially) your pain.

Ours won’t likely be a forever home either, because of a steep and narrow stairwell. I’ll sell and buy another but I sure hope I don’t have to tear off and reroof another.

My house is going on the market this spring. Going to break ground on our new house in April, weather permitting. Will be the 8th and final new construction.

I’m sure glad that we built our house with our own money. Took about 5 years but we didn’t borrow anything for it. Selling and moving will happen eventually but I don’t want to think about it. Good luck with your move.

I tore off 2 layers of asphalt shingles and 1 layer of wood shingles on my parent's house, sheeted, and reroofed it. That's what kids are for.

Best of luck to you. I have heard similar comments from my wife as well. Ours went on the market a couple of weeks ago. Currently building its replacement.

But on the plus side my wife ran into our main garage door yesterday. a month ago her daughter ran into the single garage door, which is scheduled to be replaced next week. looks like we may be replacing both doors now. its always 1 step forward 2 steps back around here. I think instead of saying my family, i'm going to just call them my chaos from here on out.

i hate selling houses, but i like building them. Best way for me to make money - build equity. Then watch the chaos chip it away

My wife and I average moving every 3 years. We get past capital gains and start looking for the next investment. It keeps you from keeping crap because I might need it someday. If I haven't used it in 2 years I really don't need it.

We are in the "dead zone" according to that article... we had 7 showings in 16 days, had two more cancel after we accepted the offer friday night. Makes me wonder if we priced it too low. Market here's been a little stagnant, but we had lots of interest.
