Hobbies other than hunting?

Hobby? Read through this post. Guess besides hunting theirs hiking, just so bored with the opportunities in our area, way too peopeley,
Kinda get into rebuilding our trucks, started back in the late 80s, bought a B model Mack, (dump) just loved that truck, 5X4 twin stick. Bought a 94 Peterbilt, 2 years ago, barn find, 25000 miles, still running original tires at 62000 miles. Blasting & painting it now,
I guess its a Jobby 😉

Mostly outdoor stuff. Fishing, foraging, gardening, shed hunting. I would say bird watching but it's more, animal watching. I keep a list of every bird, mammal, reptile, amphibian and fish I see and identify each year. I also spend a lot of time lately playing with grand kids, which may be the most dangerous hobby. Just yesterday I was wrestling with my 5-year-old grandson. three hours later he is laying on the couch, with a fever, complaining of a tummy ache. That's just great! What did I just get exposed too?

Yah...gonna need to see pics of that b model.

I spend much of my free time as a taxi service, Gatorade holder, cheerleader, semi pro ankle, finger, knee, shoulder taper, folding lawn chair sitter. I really love football, baseball, soccer, dance, basketball, volleyball, softball, swimming, and apparently soon to really love lacrosse as well. I get the privilege of eating dinner before 9, at least one time a week😳
This I relate to. Youngest now off to college playing NCAA DII Lacrosse so my days of being Lax-Dad are at an end. Kinda sad actually...

My only hobbies other than hunting are fishing. If its open water season I'm after crappie from spring through fall with some trolling for northern pike thrown in.
As soon as there's safe ice I'm cutting 3'x5' hole in the ice with a chainsaw to spear pike. In 2014 I became active with Michigan Darkhouse Angling Association as its vice president and promoting all things Darkhouse angling. My term has expired so I have more time to just enjoy and introduce new people to the sport.
No other time or money consuming hobbies.

Big Bore, nice leather working.
I've tooled leather since high school. Don't do much now too many years of tooling has caused the left thumb to have arthritis so holding a leather tool is quite painful for the first day when I start a project.
I garden but can't call it a hobby as it's to grow healthy food and to live cheaply during the winter.
I've gotten into rock hounding. Learning to identify rocks is quite the learning experience. It's a fun excuse to get out into the hills and look. Just have to watch out for "snattle rakes"(rattlesnakes). Rockhounding is fairly cheap UNTIL you decide to want to dive deeper into it. Then it gets expensive FAST. Rock saws that will cut a fair size rock start in the thousands of dollars, Lap machines the same along with flat laps. You can get into rock tumbling reasonable until you want to create cabochons(cabs) for Bolo ties or necklaces and so forth. So I stick with hunting rocks and rock tumbling.
Hunting isn't a hobby it's a way of living.
If you want to call hunting a hobby what is living then?

Hobbies,,,,, what are hobbies? If it's something you enjoy in your spare time then I think life is a hobby. I play with my toys. I enjoy reloading, shooting, fishing. I just got a new bandsaw mill to play with. I enjoy working on problem machinery. I like to play with my tractors. Dirt is most always fun. I love sitting drinking my morning coffee, reading and posting useless contributions to HT with Coop laying next to me. Yeah, I think life is my hobby. Life is good.

These are on another tread, but I’ll put them up again.
Gold and sapphires is the thought process of the summertime. Of course a little fishing, and shed hunting, but this is what we go camping for!
