So.. the last few days have been interesting. I woke up Thursday morning around 5:30AM thinking my chest was in a box or someone was standing on it. I was short of breath hyperventilating and couldn’t figure out what it was. I thoiught I was going to pass out with lack of air and holding my chest with the pain.

Being a Man, I rode it out, for the morning and started going into the office. I talked to a buddy in a medical field and he told me to go in to the hospital instead of the office. I went in to the Chest/Cardiac center and within 5 mins I was laid on a table with 10 people around me and shots and Blood drawn and tabs with cords all over my body. It was crazy insane.

I didn’t have any history of heart issues so the symptoms were a little above and beyond.

I stayed at the hospital all day and the 2nd set of blood showed I didn’t have a big attack so I needed to stay for another 4 hours with blood tests then.

The last set of tests came out with Flying colors so It was set up that this morning I go into the Cardiologist and get more tests there. I was hooked up to the tread mill and had a dozen cords hanging off my man boobs J

Long story short I tipped my Max heart rate and kept on going. The prognosis showed I didn’t have any heat blockage and I have a gold star on my health…..

So, I’m fine, But WTF happened on Thursday ?!?!?! I’m scheduled to go in to another doctor and check other things. The chest and heart is OK so that is what I was mainly concerned about.

I was told BK and McD’s only 3 times a month tops… I reached over to Punch the doc but my wife jumped in the middle. GREAT….. Now I might start loosing weight with the wife watching out for me. **SIGH** :W:

Anxiety. :)

Good to hear that it wasn't serious. Lots of people have heart attacks before they're 40. I've been through the whole series of tests you described...twice. Once in 2004 and again in 2007. Better to be safe than sorry.

Cutting back on BK and MD's won't kill ya. ;)

You did the right thing Ocar. I lost a dear friend a couple years ago because he thought he was having indigestion. Had he done what you did, he would still be with us.

Burning the candle at both ends like you do will catch up to ya. Even though you think you are fine the stress of all you have going on with kids, jobs, hunts, bills, just life in general adds to the stress level. Wife had something similiar happen about two years ago. I picked her up from work and she was complaining of the same symptoms. Took her in and doc said all was fine but to slow down a bit. Said the body kind of resets itself when it gets overloaded and that is why she was feeling that way. Don't know if it was true or BS but she has slowed down a bit and has been fine since. Take it easy bud.

... This morning my wife woke up with the same deal, except the pain - and was scared chitless.. She just turned 40 last month.

She didn't go get checked out, but went to work instead. I just called her and she's still alive... thank god !! :)

Glad your OK too...

YAh..... Anyone that knows me, knows I don't have a Doctor... I have a Vet. As in Veternarian :) He's a great friend and Basketball buddy of mine. I never go in to see a doc. So for me to think I needed to go, I thought there was something behind it.... but as usual, I'm stuck with a Huge bill I'm sure now, with an unanswered question, well besides It wasn't "too" serious. :)

Regardless, I'm back on track to start training agian to beat Bugler in the upcoming race. I'll have to dive in a little more now with my "time off" but I think it will only motivate me more.

I do have a Heart monitor now to see my training and how high the heart get's when I'm running. We'll see if that changes anything.

I have pictures I'll upload of me with all the cables and monitor hooked up that I'll upload in a bit.

Fair warning if you don't wanna see MAN BOOBS, and be happy... I usually post them without any warning,,,,, :D

Well, at least you know your heart is good, having gone through all that. I am surprised that they still made you go jump on the treadmill after your blood enzymes came back negative, esp for your age. Unless you have a family history of heart disease.

Probably stress dude, glad your OK.

I'm not sure why I had to take the test. I guess to rule out any blockage or constraints ??

Glad all is well Moosie.

If you think you are sufferring at age 37, wait 'til you get to be a gray-haired fart of 45.

Glad to hear you are OK and your buddy told you the right thing to do. Never play with your health.

I myself just had a stress echo yesterday. First they do an echo of your heart at rest, then you get up to speed(10 minutes for me at age 43) and then as fast as you can lay back down and they echo you again while telling you to blow all your air out and hold your breath. I have to say it sounded easier when they were just explaining it than it really is.

They did let me leave the hospital so I must not be about to die or anything. I don't get the results back until next week though. Hoping for flying colors myself with all pipes wide open.

Now quit eating all those Ho Ho's!!!

:D

Post what that "Huge bill" is over in the healthcare topic. We don't need to derail this syrupy Moosie-love-fest" with real important issues....

Oh, btw, glad to hear you are ok, you got lots of days ahead of you chasing those kids, they need you to skip the MickeyD's and start buying more food from the Co-Op.....

Hey O that's great news ur good! Had a scare with wife, she had she lymph node taken out this week also!! test came back negative for cancer. :). Takecare n see ya soon!

Glad to hear all is well. When I was 37 I got life flighted from Midwest,WYO to Casper. Was there for a week and had open heart surgery to replace my aortic valve.(Scary)! When I got the ambulance my heart rate was 288 beats per min. So I have a pretty good idea how scary this all can be. Maybe I should try some Zumba classes!!

That explains the email your wife sent me asking the appropriate amount of time to "mourn". :D
