My uncle just moved to gunnison co. I’m thinking about maybe trying to do a hunt eventually over there when I go visit from Montana. What game species is good hunting around there? I know I have a lot of research ahead of me but I figured I’d see if I could get pointed in the right direction. Pronghorn deer and elk I love to hunt. Thank you

What would you say is the most worth-while species to hunt in that area? I don’t have the money to buy out of state tags very often. I may just let him buy tags for a few years and hopefully I can get over there to go with him so I can see for myself.

This is the truth. Biggest elk I've seen in CO was in the Gunnison Country. Lots of big, steep country for them to hideout in and get old.

It’s some tough rugged country. But managed to get into elk every day. Packing one out is a nightmare tho! My profile pic was taken in Gunnison Co.
