I wish somebody would do this with a gas truck.

This thing will sell. A lot folks, myself included, want a truck without bells and whistles. I just wish it was a gas burner.

Looks like they are going to build it in my wife's hometown.......In a building that both of her sisters worked in at one time or another :)

For a LOT of people this is a great solution - especially being an EV.

If you drive/commute 50 miles a day, i imagine its pretty practical even as a "commuter" or second vehicle.

No profit margin in cheap vehicles as a whole, but gasoline vehicles also have more parts, so I am not sure anyone could build a gasoline vehicle at that price. Google search says the cheapest new vehicle is the Nissan Versa, and it is right around $20k and that is probably a manual transmission.

"under $20,000 after the $7,500 federal clean vehicle tax credit. "

I just wish somebody would sell a vehicle I didn't have to help pay for. We're in a place where businesses don't have to build for profit. They just have to break even make something politicians will subsidize.

A good functional gas 4x4 pickup would sell like crazy if they left out all the bullshit.
Bring back a late 80's or 90's pickup and I'd be all over it. When I bought the my last truck they were asking me about options I said if it's got 4wd and cruise control that's the only requirement. Although heated mirrors are great. But I'm not paying for seats that are cooled or massaging seats. Jfc.

Add power windows and locks and I’m in. Don’t really need anything else.

100%. Make me a new 90s Chevy 2500 with a manual transmission and I’d buy one tomorrow. Put a 6.0 in it and it would be even better.

It’s hard to find the base models of a current truck on a dealer lot. They make a lot more selling a King Ranch instead of a work truck.
