9 Thompson Falls Bighorn sheep got wiped out by the train as they were feeding along the tracks. Wouldn't this be a good idea to have a better fence along there to prevent this from happening.
New Mexico has these fences with oneway gates. If an animal gets stuck on the road/railroad side and they follow the fence, there's a oneway gate they go through and they're safe again, i.e. off the road/railroad. Its a pretty neat idea and sounds better than just a plain fence.
I'm betting Moosie would get in football position and knock the hell out it. DS, would be in the middle of it, what could he do? What would you do, you just smile and get over it? Isn't that why they make the fence holes small, so that doesn't happen?

we need a high fence along the mexican border. The money it would save the country in health care burden would buy a lot of sheep habitat and breeding programs, disease control
Losing these sheep was a sad deal. At least 5 of the ewes were pregnant. Unfortunatly this happened on a straight strech of track a fair ways from the sheep cliffs. The train engineer tried to slow down, but the sheep would not get out of the way. No amount of fencing will make it perfectly safe for the sheep concerning both the highway and the railroad. We will lose more sheep and other wildlife on the highways and tracks in years to come, but hopefully we do not have any more at this level.
