Glasgow, America

This thread has now taken more personal interest for me, now that Mrs. Fin bought some property in a western suburb of Glasgow, near the big town of Saco. Not sure of her plans, but I suspect it has something to do with her walleye addiction.

YAY! Good for Mrs Fin!! I trust you'll find the gold of this land, it ain't boze but like I said.... All has it's beauty. Wifes family is in Saco, watch out for them Brysons.

My wife has family in Saco. The Taylor's just East of Saco right on the hwy. My wifes Aunt lived right in town and ran O'Bians bar for years.

Maybe your elk and deer addiction too!

??? The DOJ investigation didn't go anywhere...that tells me they weren't turning any blind eyes. All just a bunch of media hype.

Say what? Media Hype? Wow if that is what you really think this is you are way off. Kinda like a PSU fans saying the university/Paterno had nothing to do with Sandusky molesting kids on campus after they did nothing to stop is after they knew it was going on. There is a reason the head coach and AD were let go. Is that why the DA's office is not cooperating with the feds, becasue they have nothing to hide. As of this week the DOJ investigation is still ongoing and the NCAA investigation as well. If you think pretending nothing happened at UM is going to make it go away you are sadly mistaken. This will get a whole lot worse before it gets better at UM. You should be ourtaged at what happened as a resident, instead you want to pretend it didn't happen. It's a disgrace to the whole state what has been going on. Throwing female students under the bus in the name of FCS football is pathetic IMO. If it was your daughter you would feel differently. Montana made the front page of ESPN this week as well.

The Department of Education said this week it had closed the discrimination complaint because the allegations were being addressed by the Department of Justice investigation. The Justice Department and NCAA investigations continue.

That was this week so clearly the Feds and NCAA are not done with UM as you implied which is clearly wrong but nice try to act like it was just media hype, jeezuz.

The Department of Justice will not comment on its ongoing investigation. It is not the only probe looking into sexual assault in Missoula. The Department of Education and NCAA also are investigating.

Even the president and Dean at UM are guilty of trying to cover this activity up. Great school you have there. I'm sure you are proud to be just like PSU.

But in January, UM President Royce Engstrom wrote in a draft of planned public remarks that then-Grizzlies football coach Robin Pflugrad had disciplined some football players accused of raping a woman, but did not report the incident to his supervisors.

I am truly amazed at the Montana response to this. Sticking yoru head in the snow and hoping it will all go away and acting like it was just media hype instead of admitting what really happened is wrong. Seems to be a typical response of many Montanans.

After much debate as to where to buy property, she pulled out the one big selling point she knew would get me to lower any resistance.

Not that we can now walk to our favorite little walleye lake. Nope.

Not that it is within a short drive to the great fishing at Fort Peck. Nope.

Not that the elk hunting of The Breaks is south of here. Nope.

Not that the deer hunting is pretty damn good when they recover from recent winters. Nope.

Not that Nemont shoots gaggles of geese all winter long. Nope.

Not that the quality of pheasant and sharpie hunting is commonly demonstrated by MTMiller's pics. Nope.

Rather, she pulled the big card and threw it in my face, knowing full well I would sign off - There is a DQ within a half hour west and an hour east. No fair.

Sold!

exchange the DQ with an In N Out and you would have the next real estate boom.

wyoming556,

You're like a broken friggin' record.

Just WTF would you like the people that live in Montana to do?

If the DOJ and Feds cant sort the mess out, how do you expect the Citizens to figure it out?

You're living in fantasyland if you think the people in Montana are just "burying their heads in the snow". The Feds and DOJ were called in, what else would you recommend be done?

What action should the average Montana Citizen take that would trump the investigation by the feds?

You're blaming people that didnt have a single fuggin' thing to do with what happened...

Nice that you throw every single Montana resident under the bus for something they were not part of.

Wyo556 - I live in Montana, but have no biases for U of M or MSU football, having attended neither. Personally, I think most who live here are waiting for the outcome of the investigation. These guys did some terrible stuff and it needs to be dealt with accordingly.

Most people I know are more than happy to see the program get busted hard, even dismantled, if the results of the DOJ end up showing that the university and others in Missoula are culpable for some terrible events.

Most just don't share your apparent zeal to start administering justice before the DOJ investigation is completed.

And, what does the U of M football investigation have to do with Randy11's original post on Glasgow, MT?

Damn Randy. Bored much? :)

I think things are turning around in Zootown.

I thought it would be how close the "Resort" at Sleeping Buffalo was. Has she spent any time in Saco during the mosquito season? 100 percent DEET is required.

There is a DQ close

First off I did not bring this up, Randy made a comment about rape accusations being down becasue the football team was being prosecuted. I made a comment that I agreed becasue the town was no longer turning a blind eaye to the situation and Belly Deep made the comment about this being just a bunch of "media hype" and the DOJ investigation was over which is absolutely wrong. I then disagreed with Belly Deep and provided links with proof of my opinion. If you think that the head coach and AD being fired were becasue of media hype you are wrong. If you think bringing in a former supreme court justice who lableled the UM campus "rape friendly" is just media hype you are wrong. If you think having to have the DOJ and NCAA investigate the prgram is nothing but media hype you are wrong. I do not have a specific hatred toward Montana just the ability to look at what has happend with an unbiased eye. If you think my opinions are from "outer space" you need to wake up and deal with the reality of the situation. If you want to take a wait an see approach that's fine but obvioulsy with high level employees being fired and all the variouls investigations there is something going on. The president did not take a wait an see appriach when he let the coach and AD go so obviously there is something to these accusations. The fact that a player were allowed to continue playing games for a year until enough piblic pressure was applied to force a trial and finally the player was suspended. If it makes you feel any better I think the same thing about PSU and Notre Dame as well. All 3 have tried to coverup sexual assault in a huge way to protect thier program.

I am amazed how many Montanans seem to act like nothing has happened and hope that it will all go away. It's not going to go away. If this happeend at my university I would be outraged, embarassed, and quite frankly would not stand up for them in any way like so many on this site are continuing to do. Luckily only a handful of schools operate like this and unfortunately UM is one of the worst in the country. If you want to gang up on me and tell me I am stupid, or from outer space, or have an agenda that is fine. The national media is painting a picture of a town and state where this type of activity has been tolerated so the football program can be successful and in the end the types of attitudes you are showing only reinforce the problems at UM. All you are doing is making yourself look clueless and insensitive to the obvious wrongdoings of your state flagship higher education institution, DA's office, and law enforcement.

Im sure the investigation will make some sense of all this. Unrtunatlety in most situations a DOJ and NCAA investigation would not be necessary if coaches, admisnistrators, DA's office, and law enforcement would have done the right thing when they had the oportunity to do thier job. Unfortunatley they didn't and it allowed this program to spiral out of control.

Randy actually brought up the UM football team and rape issue, not me. If you read back I simply acknowledged that he was correct. Then Belly said it was all "media hype" and I had to set the record straight about what has happed and that the investigation is still going on. At that point the Montana homers who don't share your unbiased opinions on the situation at UM began the ususal group hug and started tellng me I had an agenda and was from outer space, etc.... I have read almost every article on the subject and have kept a close eye on the numerous court cases and investigations that are going on. I also am close to the family of one of the victims and was terrified at how it was handled by local law enforcement and the DA's office. I am quite informed about what has been going on and to the dismay of many Montana homers on this site I like to set the record straight when incorrect information is brought up. It amazes me how many Monanans seem to not care about what has happened or like to pretend it is just "media hype" and didn't really happen so many times when clearly the facts say otherwise.

wyoming556,

Come back to earth. We miss you.

So I am from outer space becasue I believe there is a huge problem at UM. Your comments only reinforce your ignorance and obviouls bias to coverup what has actually happened at UM. Goood luck with that. When all the smoke clears you are going to look like a complete moron for ignoring the facts about what has happed at UM. Keep up the good work.
