We need to commit ourselves to staying in the woods and opposing the crazy and/or criminals. If we give them room they will take it. It’s like half-time in a football game. Make adjustments.

It’s so damn sad. We need to fight for what is ours in whatever way we can.
Bold group for them to be messing with. It's not like most hunters have and are carrying guns...

Won't change the fact I'll be up that way hunting again shortly!

I think we posted the same evidence that crime isn't actually going down?

Crazy world, so sad.
About a month ago my wife and I went to a retired football field with my black lab for training. I left my wife and dog in the truck while I set up some bumpers for retrieving drills. I was about 150 yards from my truck when a man across the road about 150 yards the other way came out of his house with a pit bull. The pit saw me and immediately charged my way in I felt an aggressive way. There I stood in the wide open with no weapon and no where to go. The man was laughing and seemed to be encouraging the dog. Thankfully the dog retreated back the way it came. I hollered and said put your dog up. He began cursing me and hear come the dog back at me. Dog stopped again, by this time my wife realized something was amiss. She started the truck and headed across the field my way. I said a few more things to the man. He continued to curse me and talk crazy. He yelling said things like I've been watching you, I know who you are, saying stuff about the FBI and even stooped low enough to call me a democrat. Seriously though I don't know what his problem was just a very angry person. When he started screaming I'm going to kill you I had enough. I called the cops and drove away. I really would have been afraid to be close to this dude. Yes I had a gun in my truck but I hope I'm never put in that situation. I drove out the other end of the field. Eventually met the cops and told them what happened.
Cops said it wasn't first time to his house.

I don’t play with dogs. One guy got lucky one day his turned around it was about 2 steps from me shooting it. Another one changed it’s mind really quick when my boot made contact with it face

I'm gonna get heat for this cause it's very rarely the dogs fault it's the owner, but I have zero qualms about ending an idiot dogs life at any time. Living near a reservation for a long time you learn quickly to pretty much shoot on sight.

So are you saying you shoot dogs on the Blackfeet res? Or was this somewhere else you lived?

I agree 100% it is the owners fault. But I’m not about to let an idiots problem become my problem.

BIA law enforcement frequently reverts back to a shoot on sight policy with feral dogs on the Crow. I don’t blame them one bit, and I almost dusted an aggressive dog with my AR when I found myself working on the reservation recently too.

Huh. Not saying they don’t, but sources from Crow policy please? I have many friends that live and work on the Blackfeet res and have married into the Blackfeet. That is definitely not the policy there. Dogs are viewed and treated much differently than how we view dogs. And they don’t like when Flathead valley folks come and “rescue” their dogs, much less shoot them.

Maybe I should have said informal policy. I seriously doubt it’s written into policy, but a lot of dogs get shot there, by tribal members too. Lodge Grass, Crow Agency, and especially Pryor get pretty western. There’s a lot of stuff that slips through the cracks with violent crime being so prevalent.

I live a bit from them, but i do have some work sites on the reservation. I'd never do something like that on reservation land let alone anything else really. I mind my ps and qs. Haha

Different strokes for different folks. Thanks for the clarification.

I can’t really say that I agree with them doing it but I get it. I’ve met a few sweet dogs that came from the reservation and I’ve been around some that were very dangerous. Never pulled the trigger on one myself and I would hate to do it.

Apologies for the derail on the homicide. It’s a horrible thing and I have a very hard time believing it was random and not targeted. That’s not to say I won’t have a .44 sitting next to the cot in my wall tent next weekend, but that’s nothing new.

Agreed. Sorry to derail. Always packing.

That is horrifying. I kind of think they would know who did it if they looked through his phone.
