For all you Croc lovers

I am mostly a bare foot guy, but I do like Romeos. I've had people tell me that Crocs are comfortable, but they sure don't look comfortable, and I can't bring myself to pay that price for a piece of perforated plastic.

Never worn sandals in my life. mtmuley
I really like sandals. I do a lot of shorter hikes in Keens or Chacos. Unless I thought there was a good chance of snow being on the ground, I would not be on a backpacking trip or camping trip without a pair of Crocs. I have a pair of Reef sandals that have a feature that occasionally comes in handy:

If I had sandals like that with my luck I would forego the bottle opener to save weight and space in my pack since I have one built in to my camp shoes but would ultimately step on a paper bag of poop before I had a chance to burn it in the evenings fire rendering the bottle opener useless.

FYI, I heard from a friend that long term continuous wearing of crocs can cause fallen arches. That’s what podiatrist told him caused his. He did work on his feet all day… seems like a recipe for disaster. I am no podiatrist though.

I love my crocs. Not a better boat shoe around. If they get wet they dry out in minutes. Cant do flip flops and wont do sandals. I even have a pair of fleece lined crocs for those cold night bathroom breaks. Eventually you get enough wear and tear on your body you start wearing clothes based on comfort instead of fashion.

I bought a pair of Crocs for a summer backpacking trip for camp shoes and river crossing.

On wet mossy rocks they are worthless, but I do like em for water shoes.

I won't wear Flip flops and I won't wear any sandals. So crocs until something better comes along...I'm looking

I got my second Blacktail solo hunting in my slip on Romeo’s , Not the best for traction but they’re amazing comfort since then they’ve made pairs now that have a lot better traction, than the flat sole

Love this. I have killed a fair number of critters in my Romeo’s before I got more into mountain hunting. As a kid I was too stubborn or lazy to throw on my big boots and would go on 3-4 milers in them. Not good for ankle support which made them not a good idea, but I killed blacktails in them anyway
