Football General Talk

Though this isn't an entirely valid comparison, but Purdey looked a whole bunch better against Minnesota last week than Stroud did against the same team, the same stadium, and the very next weekend (today).

Meanwhile, Purdey is on the losing end of another game, but without a double handful of his very best players, he put up elite numbers and nearly won the game (actually the Defense lost it).

I'm pretty comfortable calling Purdey an elite, top 5 qb.

But I still don't claim I know much about it... ;)
Purdy played great he had receivers drop 6 critical passes.
Purdy hit Ronnie Bell PERFECTLY but it's hard to catch a football with bricks for hands.

Dare I say the Vikings not only look like true NFC North contenders but top NFC contenders? Two quality wins now in a row.

Next weeks showdown with the Pack should be good and even though it's early, seems like this game could have huge implications later on
I am enjoying each game, but vikes have twice gone 5-0 and missed the playoffs anyway - so I remain measured. Best Viking’s fan Twitter post of the day, “I am ready to have my heart broken again”

It appears at this early point of the season the NFC goes through the North. This upcoming week will be a huge matchup with what could prove to be the difference in the North in only week 4. If Love is back and the D can keep getting to the Qb and force a few more interceptions I see good things happening for the Green Bay Packers!

I knew you were my favorite Hawkeye from this site!

Id have to say the 9ners are in the midst of what looks like the 2020 season when everyone went down 3 weeks into the year.

They lost a all pro d line guy Hargrave for the season. With torn triceps

Purdy is down with a back injury from carrying the team.

And CMC isn't looking to good for any short term return. He's in Germany seeing specialists.

I'm not hitting the panic yet but man... ain't looking real great.

Madden curse is real AF.

What I find interesting is how none of the football talking heads is saying anything about firing the coaches of the 49ers, Rams, Cardinals at 1-2 or the Bengals who are now 0-3 like they are McCarthy in Dallas.
Any number of teams could start the season with a 1-2 record and nobody would think twice about it.
But the Cowboys are 1-2 and their season is over?

49ers, Rams, or the Bengals
These three coaches have recently coached in a super bowl, or 2.

Cardinals at 1-2
This guy in his second year of a rebuilding era.

Cowboys were supposed to be super bowl contenders (and very well still might be - 14 games left to be played). Just talking heads, gotta talk about something to get people to watch, right?

Remember how McCarthy’s last game of the 2023 season- it’s not surprising that he enters this season already on the hot seat.

49ers have been to the 3 nfc championship games and 2 superbowls in 4 years and plenty of people are calling for his head.

A friend who in a Bengals fan is trying to sell her season tickets this morning.

I find over reactions to be rather hilarious. If the won-loss record of your favorite teams is a quality of life issue, perhaps you have misplaced priorities. Nonetheless, I know many people like that. And in recent years, it seems that unless your team wins the Superbowl, you and your life is a failure. Heck, I'm just happy to see "my" team playing an interesting, good game, but it won't kill me if they play like Cinci did last night.
