That would be pretty cool. I've never traveled with a gun. The only time I've ever traveled with a rod (Belize) they told me I could take it as a carry on, then once on the plane may be check it... then they lost it. I'm not sure I want to risk that with a shotgun (though arguably it might actually be a cheaper loss).

I travel airlines with a gun several times a year, Alaska, Hawaii, New Zealand, Florida etc. and it's really simple, just read your airlines rules on their websites. They are all pretty much the same; Hard case with locks at both ends. Travels as checked baggage. Declare firearm at check-in.

And you can current get round trip flights for $182. I definitely should have waited.
