How are we not talking about the rifle? AAA/Exhibition grade wood, Pre64 action, Skip Line checkering, Shadowline cheekpiece, and while I can't be sure, I wanna bet that the grip cap is skeletonized, and maybe the butt plate too.
Artwork that Al Biesen would be proud of and Jack O.C. would be proud to own! Beautiful.
That's what I was thinking too!

For what I paid for it, I wouldn't hesitate to stuff it in a saddle scabbard and strap it to a bronc.

I’m curious where you guys who are into rifles with a soul find this stuff? Are there forums and such more catered to such things? Gunbroker? Gun shows? And of course I’m also curious about what you paid for it. It’s a good looking rifle!

Gunbroker is a good place to start looking, IF you know what to look for and are willing to take a chance. I paid 2/3 of what a Seekins Precision usually sells for on GB.

Should I go with 130 grain Partitions/Accubonds @ 3100 fps as a standard load? Anyone still use this antediluvian chambering? Is it ok to buy the fixed 4x or do I need something more telescopic?
Beautiful rifle

Absolutely gorgeous rifle! If you are ok with a long action, you really cant beat the 270 for deer etc. we all tend to get excited about the new releases, but there is no reinventing the wheel. The 270 is as good as ANYTHING for what its good for. 😂

Rogers Sporting Goods has been running some really good deals on 270 loaded ammo - Sig Sauer 140gr Sierra Ammo. I think it was 12-15/box when I ordered a few and it's 18.xx a box now. My savage shot it well enough

O'Connor got wonderful performance from the cup-and-cores of his day against all many of game up to grizzlies. He would be "greatly pleased" with your rifle, to use a favorite phrase of another legend, Ned Roberts.

All said and done, the 270 has been doing for 100 years, what the 6.5 Creedmoor is being loved for today…

Not much love for flat shooting in relation to the creed. The 270 still does that significantly better.
