If you look on the hammer forum they have a pdf going of load data from different users. I believe the same pdf is also on longrangehunting forum as well. So you might be able to find it there.Anyone have a load for hammer hunters 177gr with ramshot magnum powder out of a 28 nosler
Hell yeah. mtmuley26 nosler 109 gr absolute hammers
H1000
80 gr 3525
81 3613
82 3624
83 3648
84 3701
85 3750
86 3770
87 3832 86 & 87 were too hot, heavy bolt.
Looks like I should try 84, 84.5, & 85 for groups. The faster I pushed this the group got smaller. I’m very limited on powder, wish I could try something different.
How long is your barrel? I got an average of 3148 with 140 gr absolutes with 58gr of IMR 4350 out of a 22. About .7 groups as well. I may want to look at the 131 HH.A little more field testing today.
280 Remmy
131 Hammer Hunter
RL16
3230 fps, 0.7 MOA over five shot group.

For that matter I need to get my hands on some different powders, I can’t do any better with my 280ai, topped out @ 3300 on the ragged edge!
Not trying to be a tool, legitimate question for those more familiar with the testing that's been done by Hammer...how long are barrels lasting with combos like this? 600? 800? 1000?Ran some ladders today:
257 Weatherby, 67 gr shock hammers.
IMR 4350 70gr. 3776
71 3918
72 4021
73 4074
75 4119
75 4266
Finally found pressure @ 75, but the group was huge, rising vertically.
IMR 4064
65 gr 4055
66 error
67 4174
68 4224
69 4316
70 4425 Too hot, heavy bolt, bright ejector.
These six were in about 1 1/8”, gonna load 5 @ 68, 68.5, & 69 and see what I’ve got. I haven’t figured drops yet but this is screaming, ought to be hell on yotes this winter.
I haven't done any long-term testing of high velocity hammer loads, but I did have a 257 Weatherby that burned up a barrel in 700 rounds shooting mostly Nosler ballistic tips. Accuracy dropped off slightly but the bore scope showed the throat had eroded to over 1" long .Not trying to be a tool, legitimate question for those more familiar with the testing that's been done by Hammer...how long are barrels lasting with combos like this? 600? 800? 1000?
Really similar to what I worked up with H48956.5 Creedmoor
Savage Axis
22" Barrel 1-8" Twist
123gr Absolute Hammer
210M primer
Varget
0.020" off lands
1/8 turn Lee Factory Crimp Die
41.5gr 3071fps [selected load]
43.0gr 3165fps [stiff extraction, max load]
If you go to the Hammer site, you will notice guys loading Hammers to extreme velocities probably don't care about barrel life. Mostly throat erosion kills a barrel from what I understand. Hammers move faster with equal powder charges when compared to other bullets. Doubt it's an issue. mtmuleyNot trying to be a tool, legitimate question for those more familiar with the testing that's been done by Hammer...how long are barrels lasting with combos like this? 600? 800? 1000?
