Extreme hunting pressure in region 7.

Living in some of the states with a great wildlife resource that everyone from around the country wants to pillage gives you a different perspective.

Living in a state that is not so heavily subsidized by people living in other states also provides a different perspective.

Variety truly is the spice of life.

Nobody is stopping you from recreating on the federal property. It’s when you shoot the states game animal that it’s a problem
Hey, when I am recreating, I don't like bullets flying by and besides, I want my federal land that is unhuntable to me, to be making my life better, producing oil, Lithium, cheap beef and lumber, etc. etc. If I'm not hunting it I want it making "stuff" for me.

See where that goes? I don't need your state game animals on my federal property.

Wonder if I can use this angle to get me a Wyoming sheep tag

If you really think about it, should we even have federally owned land in the US?

Much like @mtmuley, I’m a pretty big states rights guy. Perhaps the states should control (and own) the land within their borders.

What public land is unhuntable to you? Maybe if you’re holding out for the deer or elk tag of your dreams, but you can hunt deer, elk, and antelope all over the west every single year if you choose to. Most of us residents don’t draw the glory tags either. I certainly never have.

Some fun anecdotes that have nothing to do with the topic at hand. If you guys had people from around the country clamoring to hunt your home and the places you love and grew up in you might understand.
We get quite a few clamoring for deer and pheasant. The former has a points system and waiting list. Of course, none of our deer are hosted on your federal land (we don't have any).

I should add, there is strong pressure to add more out of state deer tags.
