Elk retrive

Has anyone tried the rollup sleds for elk?
Yes, but without success. Unless the ground is perfectly flat, the elk pieces slide off, the sled rolls back up, any lashing gets tangled and it's a real pain. Perhaps if you somehow attached straight limbs or something to stiffen the sled and contain the load ... but still that seems problematic.

I've used sled and carts with mixed success. Also just plain dragging the quarters.

Most important lesson learned: sometimes it is just easier to put them on your back, even when there are other ways to go about it.

In my truck from start of archery to the end of rifle:

Cabelas Mag Hauler game cart

Jet sled

Two monster internal frame packs with plenty of rope and game sacks.

I have used each as the situation deems and they all excel in different conditions.

I kind thought the rollup might be too good to be true. Generally speaking, I would just as soon load up the MR, but the idea of sledding something out in the snow seems like slick idea.

I think I am just going to go with a normal sled and give it a whirl. With our weather luck this year (70 degrees the last week of September at 8000ft), I probably won't have snow anyway, but fingers crossed.
