Caribou Gear Tarp

Elk Pictures w/ Score

You have to skip to near the end to see what this deer actually looks like.

Looks like a 125-130” with a 19” spread when it’s on the boat. Looks dang near 26” wide in the intro photo. Tricky

Some nice bulls here! They can be tough to judge from any non-live photo IMO. Body size differs from region to region, as many have noted. A bull from SE Montana might look 335 but could be 350ish due to the deceptive body size. When they're strong on the first three and not short beamed, they'll often surprise you on the upside. I find it easiest to add them up by taking a 200" base (50" beams, 30" mass/side, 40" wide), add one horn's tines up and double (if symmetrical), making adjustments if he's longer beamed, thin, etc. Often a big bull will have a base close to 200" though. 195" for some mountain bulls in Montana might be more accurate as I think their mass is typically 27-28" vs 30" side. Snowies bulls and some central bulls have tight G1/G2's and will throw a 10"+ C1 so 30" might be more accurate there.

How did this turn into a 300+ club? Maybe some of us want to see those sexy 225s and 280s. I have no clue what mine measure, but I’m stoked with them.

Here I’ll break the ice for all us normal folk that shoot cows and little bulls.

Euro is the same as the hide on bull but that’s the only photo I have of the dead bull. I don’t long arm em.

I was probably more excited after my first bull than any of the others I’ve shared. But in the context of the thread idk maybe 180 lol.IMG_1082.jpeg
