A relatively young bull, but he stole the cows from a similar aged bull that had bigger antlers that day. The one that lived scored 430 net, taken 2 years later and is the current archery world record.

I was stalking this bull when he turned around and fed back up a ravine. He ended up walking past my wife and friend at 27yards…that ended the hunt!

Some of the best elk meat I've ever had was that from OLD bulls taken very early in September. Tiny bulls don't equate to "good eaters" contrary to what tiny bull killers like to claim.

So true. It seems the more amorously active the bull is during the fall, the quality and quantity of the eats diminishes ... regardless of bull elk antler size.
