Elk .... Let's see them!!!

New to the Forum. Here's my 2022 Colorado Bull. First time elk hunter on that trip and was able to get it done on the first morning of the hunt, in the first hour of shooting light! Sadly to say though this was not the first bull i shot at that morning... Had a big 7x6 come in right at shooting light, easily a 350 class bull, and at 40 yards i shot right over his back. He came in right on top of us, opposite of the way we had set up and just so happen to be down wind so time really wasnt of the essence as he started to wind me. with this it kind of put me in a tough situation to make the shot. Luckily though it was a clean miss. To make it even worse my dad was with me on this hunt and had the whole thing on video... But to our surprise not even 30 minutes after i missed the big bull, this bull and his cow came wandering in for a drink and i was able to get it done! Hunted over a water hole as Colorado was extremely dry that September. Needless to say im hooked for life and ready to go back!
