While doing a European mount for a friend I found this unique bone formation. Appears that this bull took a browtine through the nasal cavity and into the top of his mouth in a previous years rut.

Good fortune smiled on me yesterday morning.

Not the greatest pictures ever, but I shot this cow a couple of days ago with my .284 win that I built last summer. We were about 4 miles in, but me and a friend got it all out in one trip.

Sad thing though, I found out my poor old boxer passed away while we were out there, so kind of a bitter-sweet trip.

This is what happens when you get sciatica that completely shuts you down, you tell your friend to go without you and to shoot a good one if the chance comes up..... and he listens to you.

Didn't he know he was supposed to have so many sympathy pains for me that he'd wait?!

A blast from the past that I came across at my parents house this weekend. The only surviving picture I know of from my first Elk 25 years ago, first animal with a bow. I was 15 years old here. I used to wear overalls all the time, more country than cornbread! I wasn’t hunting in them, I guess I had changed into them back at camp before we went back to go get him out.

Here's the deal. Since the "Let's see them" pronghorn thread is one of the most viewed on this site, and most viewed by lurkers, I am thinking we should do the same with elk and show how many elk guys on this site take.

This thread will be a "sticky thread" and be at the top of the Elk Forum, from here on out. It doesn't matter when you shot it, how you shot it, or if you were just the person helping, this is the thread to post elk pictures. No need to post a long story, just a pic and a few notes about the hunt.

Be as specific or vague as you want, as far as location.

Here goes.

Thanks for doing this. I hope this thread becomes as popular as the pronghorn thread. I know you guys have shot a lot of elk, so post 'em up right here, even if they have previsouly been posted on another thread.
