I was trying to fill a whitetail doe tag Saturday night when this cow walked by at 20 yards. Didn’t have to think twice about it. Stoked to have gotten her quickly and cleanly and to have a freezer full of meat.

What's to say? I had multiple chances and he always beat me. The kid that sealed the deal just bumped into him on a magical day. Blew a cow call twice and the bull came screaming down the hill, said he almost had to shoot in self defense.

He's added some mass, and the 8th point this year, but last year was his best year. He had much longer tine length and was a gorgeous 7x7. I learned a lot from that bull over the years. Little bittersweet to see him go, honestly.

Wife’s first elk…..one arrow at 31 yards did the trick…….70 yards later he was hers. To say she was excited is an understatement.

We had one other person in camp that had a tag to fill….my son came up to watch and we were able to get that done this morning.

Going off the story from the kid that shot him, he was at less than 10 yards and still on the move. Probably not the best shot choice but he got away with it.
