my first elk is the cow...

and the 2nd and 3rd pictures are how i realized my buddy and I hunt in the same place...ha. He was pretty happy when I showed him the trail cam pic of the elk he got.

Had a very action packed hour yesterday AM. Bummed season is over so quickly for me. Thankfully will be still looking with my son.

Greenhorn, I just finished reading about your son's elk hunt in Bugle and really enjoyed it. Your success rate is inspiring. Thanks for sharing

First bull. Completely DIY public land, took several years of scouting many areas to narrow down my search for an area worth the price of an out-of-state tag. All the hard work was worth it, I had the hunt of a lifetime (only I'm hoping to make it an annual hunt).

My 2015 Wyoming public land bull, first elk I have taken with a frontal shot but he was at only 7 yards so I figured it would work. Broad head was burred in his back hip only went about 30 yards
