Elk .... Let's see them!!!

2013 was the end of the bull rose. Was an awesome public land hunt and bull.IMG_rosepic.jpg

This is the cow I took in New Mexico in 2010 - what I hope for on most of my elk hunts (except not down in the bottom of a canyon like this one) and the last year for non-residents to draw a cow tag.

My first bull. Muzzleloader, NM, 2011. Years ago in Colorado I had passed on a raghorn I cow-called in, so for this hunt I decided I would take the first legal bull.

Colorado 2013. Guided hunt, and cashed in my preference points. Lots of cycling and metallic silhouette shooting to get ready. I see lots of bigger bulls on this site, but I am happy with this one.

Corax , congrats that is a beautiful bull. And nice cow and rag horn too I bet they all tasted good!

Better late than never.

My 2013 archery bull from Wyoming.

And my dad's Utah muzzeloader, he shot with me filming at 10 yds. :D

Nebraska has a very limited elk season. I am lucky to have a great herd on some land I can hunt. I have seen them every year while deer/predator hunting in the canyons for the last 6 years. I have some great pictures of them in range. However, my odds of drawing a bull tag are not great 1:78. Had a buddy luck out and draw on his first year applying.

Seems a lot of you guys are bashful about posting your bulls to this thread. A lot of great bulls got shot last year and not many of them ended up here.

For you who have signed up in the last year, we would love to see your elk. Just realized I missed posting this Colorado raggie.

CO Bull

Been lurking on here for a while figured it was about time I shared. Here's my CO bull from last year. I had an awesome hunt with ishootdasmalones and my fiancé and in the course of it learned a lot about strategy, like if you're going to ask her to marry you do it before it starts snowing and you have to pack your elk out 4 miles (she'll think its romantic vs. you trying to keep her from killing you for shooting an elk downhill that far from the truck). Sorry no good field picks since the brush was so thick we had a hard time even getting to the elk to dress it.
