Leupold BX-4 Rangefinding Binoculars

Drought Conditions

I wound up 10" below normal for last year......we only had 12-14" total rainfall as normal.
1st fire in the Gila last week in an area usually still covered in snow.

2 fires locally. A few hundred acres. Out.
2200 in the White Mtns near the Rez. Still going.
New one in Capitan area tonight.
Several others going along the bosque & east mtns.

Blowing 35-40 again today. Gusts to 60.
Maybe rain or snow next couple days, but I bet it's a drop.
Going to be a tough year if we get no monsoons.

3 rivers fire near Capitan has gone over the mtn now,4500ac in one afternoon.

That 3 rivers fire has potential to absolutely explode with the weather the next few days

Returned to Roswell from Ruidoso via Capitan and Lincoln and it is dry. The burnt hills from last year are brown.

Could be a rough season.

Dry in the Gila. Not green except next to the few flowing streams. Very few.

Strong winds have sapped what moisture I had in the ground.
Elk coming to the tanks mid day, lots of yearlings. Means moma's have run them off for calving. Bulls sprouting.
Bone dry already.

A few days of light rain over here in ND has been helpful, but boy do I hope you guys get one heck of a snowpack next year. Lake Sakakawea is a hurting unit right now.

It's gonna be a long year. Several rivers likely already peaked or will this weekend. Very 2012ish.

That reach of the Yampa has some ridiculous fishing pressure. As many things outdoors of late, it's loved to death.

I never would have guessed that the Pimedale/Kemmerer region could have gotten as much rain as it's had recently. Or, that it would look as green as it does right night now. Will bode very well for all species this year.
