For sure! He explained to me that it was his hobby, more like a passion. He hiked every spare time he had available, constantly searching. Of course, he had his special "honey holes" where he always discovered treasures. It was a real pleasure listening, learning, and looking at his many treasures.

Same for me, What was real interesting was the daily diary he kept where he recorded all the antlers he found. Something I wish I had done. What I found surprising is he never put a tape to any of them. The second time I couldn't hold back, I took a tape and measured some of the better ones. I think the best mule deer was 92 typical with over ten inches of NT. The other side was a clean four point with a broken brow tine. It score 88.

I am pretty good at guessing a score if I can hold the antler in my hand. After about five antlers straight of guessing the score with in an inch. Jim says, "I don't think you need that tape". I figured I had measured enough after that.
I just like measuring antlers, I would have scored all the bigger ones if I had the time.
