Doubt this will impact agencies...

Can we talk about the math for a second? 2.5m federal employees (pretty steady for decades), 10% take the offer, saving $100B. What was the exact time period for that $100B? 50yrs?
In the corporate world, the email would hint that those not taking the might get fired later do to a RIF. Federal union would put up a stink, but Elon should add that for extra motivation. For the rest of us, if you thought the federal government was inefficient before, oooohhhh boy...

How about no physical offices? No more need to light, heat, maintain all those old inefficient buildings. Best of all, you can hire the best talent without anyone needing to relocate. And, possibly actually have happy employees with a healthy work/life balance. How dreadful!
Half of Bozeman is working remotely.
The outside experience has been ruined during weekdays.😉

Clearly that's not what i cam talking about. These are peeps who sat on there ass, walked their dog, watching movies, took the kids to the park while on the clock because nobody was watching.

My company sent everyone home during covid. Once they came back, surprisingly meetings were more meaningful in person, better collaboration when you are in office and work production went up ( not even close on this one)
What so your neighbor did this? Your kid? Well sorry bub but taking a page out of MT FWP here but that is what is called an anecdotal observation. You got chit…nothing…nada. Hit me with your data if you got any

I know folks who are still on probation at their federal jobs who sense they may be losing them. Good folks. Hard workers. I feel bad for them.

Relative to the federal budget the potential reduction in force is shiny and little else.

Folks who f’d off from home will now do so in the office. Good managers expect a certain volume of production and hold their employees to it, regardless of where they’re working. i’ve seen it done right and I’ve seen it done wrong. A CEO gets to dictate those terms to his employees and I suppose to the executive branch that’s what Trump is and it comes with a territory of federal work.

I’m fine with big changes and believe they’re needed. But most of those cheering this on are doing so on a scaffolding that the next administration of the other team will just use to reverse. Gulf of Mexico, Denali, WFH, executive orders - this whiplash will last forever because the roots of the problem are never addressed as long as the tree species is red or blue.

Boggles my mind when people are outraged at other working class people for enjoying their lives before retirement, instead of being outraged at their employers that they’ve been denied this ability. The existence of billionaires is proof that your anger is directed at the wrong people. Their wealth is the stolen value of our collective labor. And right now, it’s an administration of billionaires. They’ll never care about you beyond what you can give them.

If you're an employee on a probationary period, I'd say you're toast.
