Another name for them is “papermouths”. The trick is getting them hooked and landed gently so you don’t lose them off the hook - typically a bendy rod with light line. The larger the fish the more challenging this can be

They put up a great fight on light tackle. We used 16th ounce jigs with a 2 inch paddle tail.

Those are some slabs! I've never been able to do that great for them open water, only ice fishing.
