Make your comments in a respectful manner. Most of my problem with the changes involve not listening to the department bios and asking for things they know can’t be delivered within the deadlines. It’s all a game. The animosity at the last meeting between members was revealing. Let every candidate for governor know, regardless of party or who you vote for. Let’s try to get this train back on track.
Yes, the anti-hunting animosity comes out pretty clear with some of the commissioners. Their willingness to completely ignore the recommendations of the WDFW staff is frightening.
Change happens when you push for it, and now is the time. The races on both sides of the aisle are close. Send emails to candidates respectfully asking for their position on the commission structure and some of its members willingness to make decisions contrary to the department and other commissioners. Even if they don't respond, at least they know it is an issue people care about and are looking at.
This whole situation confirms hunters are too reactive and not proactive.
