Suprizingly, I only saw 1 deer, a doe, out in an open cow pasture at the very upper end of a small drainage at about 10 in the morning miles from the state line. I have seen some nice bucks in years past, not real close to the border though. All I saw this past weekend were elk and antelope. I did see some tracks though.
I wouldn't be discouraged because it looks like a good area for deer.
I'll tell you what, since I don't have a deer tag for this unit, if I see any deer I'll push them west into Utah and if you see any elk you push them east into Colorado!
sounds good,,,though the "diamond mtn, south slope "limited deer is at the corner,,,the 9 d gen deer does go to the line bordering colo unit 10,,,was looking at a area just south of the dina sour nt park boundary on the utah side noth of hwy 40.
I have a all unit all seasons tag - I won a raffle - I will be archery hunting in 2 & 201- I'd love some info SClay -I'm planning on scouting up there this weekend. Never been to that area of the state before
