There is one in there. Only saw two small coveys of them. With only 8 total I'd rather shoot chukars anyway. That's a pile. No huns?
must not be hunting Idaho or NevadaThere is one in there. Only saw two small coveys of them. With only 8 total I'd rather shoot chukars anyway.
That's me. I have shot an 870 for the last 39 years. I can shoot it as fast as any semi auto. I have killed 5 individual birds on a covey rise quite a few times. I've tried to switch to other shotguns over the years but I have never shot them as good, so it's always back to old reliable. lolwho's still rocking the pump? That's ridiculous for chukar!
I can't hit birds, or find birds, or outwalk people, and I certainly don't have the best dog, but I'd venture to say, no one... and I mean no one, puts more lead in the sky. I've started walking in on coveys with extra shells between my teeth for Round III can shoot it as fast as any semi auto.
That's a great idea. I might have to try that. It kills me to hunt where you can only have 3 shells. I know guys that love their O/U or S/S but I'm just not one of them.I can't hit birds, or find birds, or outwalk people, and I certainly don't have the best dog, but I'd venture to say, no one... and I mean no one, puts more lead in the sky. nor am I. though jls has definitely out shot me with his 16 sxs, with about 1/3 the shooting. That's a great idea. I might have to try that. It kills me to hunt where you can only have 3 shells. I know guys that love their O/U or S/S but I'm just not one of them.
I’m dumb enough to still be swinging a 12Ga 870 for all my birds. Chukars, Huns, pheasants…. By the end of the day I hate it but I always pass up the 20ga version on the next outing. Someday I’ll learn.who's still rocking the pump? That's ridiculous for chukar!

I always shot a 12 gage for years. Now I only use it for waterfowl. The 20 gage is way easier to carry and shells are smaller. Kills birds just like a 12.I’m dumb enough to still be swinging a 12Ga 870 for all my birds. Chukars, Huns, pheasants…. It's not hard to shoot well if you only take high percentage shots. lolnor am I. though jls has definitely out shot me with his 16 sxs, with about 1/3 the shooting.
...hold my beer. It's not hard to shoot well if you only take high percentage shots. lol
I’ve got a 20 gauge but it must be a ladies model or something. About 3/4” shorter than the standard stock but not as short as the little youth models Ive seen. Even the standard stock length is for an 870 is probably too short for me but that’s basically all I’ve ever shot and i shoot it well.I always shot a 12 gage for years. Never shoot at them running on the ground....hold my beer.
shit I missed trying to ground pound one before!
I actually always shorten the stocks on my 870. 13 1/2" trigger pull. It helps me with mounting the gun quicker.I’ve got a 20 gauge but it must be a ladies model or something.
